Ty Danco

You can find my bio on LinkedIn. I split my time between Vermont (which I consider home) and Boston (where I do most of my work.) PLEASE don’t call or write on an unsolicited basis for your company seeking angel investment. Since I’m busy regaining my health after a (so far successful) tussle with tongue cancer last year, all of my focus is going into coaching at Techstars, mentoring around New England and staying healthy–angel investing is just a side project now, not my profession. My vetting rule to keep me sane is that I don’t even look at deals unless they come referred to me by a co-investor I know or via a portfolio company. This piece by superangel/entrepreneur Dharmesh Shah says it all: Dear-Friend-Sorry-My-heart-says-yes-but-my-schedule-says-no. But all is not lost: any good entrepreneur worth his or her salt should be able to figure out how to network into me.

Want to know my one superpower: here’s my favorite party trick, with MassChallenge winners Rentabilities and Energesis Pharmaceuticals behind the foosball table. Now I’ve got to get back to work…

It’s really nice and educational to see the perspective from the other side. I took away some new insights that should help me in the future when I am ready to secure that all important first round of funding for my new venture.

I look forward to learning more.
