Kinvey is part of the amazing TechStars Boston 2011 Class. The CEO, Sravish Sridhar, has always blown me away with his ability to think clearly 2 steps ahead of the curve. In this interview, after briefly getting Sravish’s backstory (BackStory as a Service?), Sravish laid out the hypothesis for his company, since validated by a swarm of competitors, several of whom took the quick exit. Sravish, however, is laying the foundation for something big, and as enterprises are now making dozens or hundreds of internal apps–replacing all of the paperwork that was once used by traveling salesmen, truck drivers, and service providers–Kinvey is really hitting its stride. Every day, Sravish starts his day by going around to every employee and spending a little time just to see what’s going on and how they’re doing. I’ve never seen that anywhere else. This is an investment that is doing great, by a firm that is on the forefront of making their customers’ lives easier and better, and all folks, not just Sravish, are such good people. This is about as good a reward as you can get in angel investing.
